Following her education in Sankt Georg Austrian High School and after majoring in Tourism and Hotel Management in Bosphorus University, Pınar Kartal Timer started her career at the Hilton Istanbul in Revenue Department in 1988 and transferred to Sales Department in 1990. She held several positions until her promotion as Director of Sales and Marketing for both Hilton Istanbul and Hilton Parksa in 1994, where she worked until 2002.

In 2002 she joined the opening team of Moevenpick Hotel Istanbul as Director of Sales and Marketing, then became Area Director Sales & Marketing Turkey Moevenpick Hotels and Resorts in 2005.

She joined Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul as Director of Sales and Marketing in 2006. Awarded as the Director of Sales and Marketing of the Year for 2007-2008 by Kempinski International as recognition achieved both in figures and people management.

Mrs. Pınar Kartal Timer was appointed in February 2009 as General Manager to Pera Palace Hotel, with the mission to return the hotel to the glorious days of its heritage.  After completion of the restoration she managed to re-open the hotel successfully in 2010. She also led the transition of the property to join Jumeirah Hotel Group in 2012. Her appointment as General Manager of 2 landmark hotels in Dubai, Jumeirah Al Qasr and Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf in 2017 was another milestone in her career. She completed the renovation of Jumeirah Al Qasr, created and led 12 projects and managed to bring her hotels to Number 1 and 2 positions within Jumeirah Group Hotels.

She established her company NEXT PHASE Hospitality Management Consultancy in 2020, offering her experience and know how for project development, hotel management, and integrated marketing communication.

Within her 30 years career in managerial positions in luxury international hotel groups like Hilton, Kempinski, and Jumeirah, she has not only developed an unrivaled experience, knowledge, and understanding of efficiently managing people and hotels, she also proved herself as a commercial leader by rightly positioning her products in all segments including implementing correct rate strategies, designing unique marketing & PR activities and activating the right sales channels.

Fluent in English and German, Pınar Kartal Timer is an active member of associations such as Skal Club, BUMED, TUROB and TurkishWinn. She is married and have 2 children.
